9:00 am | Opening Remarks
9:30 am | Panel 1: Advancing Canada–China Agri-Food Engagement
Agri-food is one of the strongest pillars of Canada–China trade, from seafood and meat to canola and processed foods. Despite recent challenges with tariffs and market access, both countries recognize the strategic importance of stable food supply chains. This session will explore how Canadian producers can tap into China’s growing demand for high-quality, safe, and sustainable food products, and how renewed engagement can strengthen trust, expand exports, and open new pathways for collaboration in food security and innovation.
10:30 am | Panel 2: Canada–China Partnerships in Financial Services and Investment
Financial services and investment remain critical channels for deepening bilateral economic ties. With Canadian and Chinese financial institutions active in both countries, there is clear potential for growth in banking, insurance, cross border investment, and sustainable finance. This panel will also explore the role of private equity and asset management firms in shaping long-term capital flows and cross-border investment strategies, highlighting how their experience in managing large-scale infrastructure, real estate, and green projects can contribute to recalibrating Canada–China financial engagement. The discussion will focus on improving predictability, fostering innovation, and strengthening two-way flows of capital that benefit businesses in both markets.
11:30 am | Panel 3: Canada–China Cooperation in Energy and Natural Resources
Energy and natural resources remain cornerstones of the Canada–China economic relationship, with new opportunities emerging as Canada diversifies its energy export markets. Significant crude shipments to China from TMX and LNG Canada’s recent inaugural exports to Asia mark important milestones in opening long-term, stable supply channels for China. Alongside these developments, Canada’s strengths in mining, forestry products, and expertise in clean tech position it as a reliable partner for China’s energy transition and industrial growth. This roundtable will explore how expanding trade in both traditional and low-carbon resources can strengthen bilateral business ties, support climate goals, and build innovative, sustainable supply chains for the future.
