CCBC 2023 Canadian Education Mission to China
October 30-31, 2023
With support of the Embassy of Canada to China, co-hosted by the Bank of China (Canada) and Cape Breton University, CCBC is pleased to organize the 2023 Canadian Education Mission to China, connecting Canadian educational representatives with key figures in the Chinese education system, including Trade Commissioners, Ministry of Education officials, and Chinese institutions.

The two-day Mission includes CCBC’s 45th AGM and Business Forum on October 31, offering unparalleled networking opportunities with senior figures from Canadian and Chinese business communities.

International students from mainland China and Hong Kong amounted to 169,905, or 26.2% of the international student population in Canada in 2019 based on Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) data. Proportionally, this translates to Chinese student spending of about $5.72 billion in Canada in 2019, supporting over 57,000 jobs. While Canada remains a preferred choice for Chinese students, intensified global competition, post-COVID-19 challenges, strained Canada-China relations, and economic slowdown require Canadian educational institutions to “Rediscover, Reconnect and Rebuild” their competitive edge.
